Ruben Anthony

Ruben was born on the Caribbean Island of Curaçao and started singing and dancing when he was 7 years old.

At 15 he had his first performance on Dutch national television for the Miss Beautiful Black Pageant. At 18 Ruben moved to Amsterdam where he was accepted to the Theater School. After school Ruben has toured with Ruth Jacott, Enrique Iglesias and Mr. President.

Ruben played the lead role in the musicals Fame, Carmen Cubana and Hair in Austria and Daddy Cool in Holland. Proving to his audiences that he is a true triple threat.

His first album Exceptional was released in 2006. The single Be My Lady hit the charts at no.5 in Austria. He executive produced his next two albums In My Room, Take It All and went on to write two songs for the musical Carmen Cubana.

Ruben was part of the Soul Brothers Tour in Holland, which was followed by the successful Soul & Disco Brothers tour and Soul Celebration Tour with sold out crowds in the prestigious Amsterdam Carré and Oude Luxor in Rotterdam as well as two performances at “DE WERELD DRAAIT DOOR”. Ruben was also a choreographer for the Soul Sisters and the Soul Celebration.

In 2013 Ruben started sailing the seven seas with his costummade shows for the cruise industry called Sweet Summer Soul and Souled Out.

In 2019 Ruben was part of Team Anouk in the Voice of Holland.After the show Ruben started a crowdfunding campaign for his new project Blue Light Frequency. He raised 10.000 Euro in three weeks and started production on the project in Amsterdam along side producer Dutchflower. The first single "Always on my Mind" reached over 350.000 streams on Spotify.

Blue Light Frequency was inspired by Ruben's travels around the world and the people he met along the way. "I realized that at one point in time we were all one people, because in French Polynesia the local traditional music is exactly the same the music as in the Caribbean and these two areas are miles apart from each other"
